YOUR
IMPROVED GAME IS ONLY MINUTES AWAY WITH THE COLONY’S “SUCCESS
NOW” INSTRUCTION PROGRAM
The
curriculum for “Success Now” employs techniques that
are tailored to the individual’s strengths, physique and playing
style. The result is an easy, quick, customized, comprehensive method
taught exclusively at The Colony. “Success Now” was
introduced after a three-year period of research and development
on a system that could instantly improve players at any level –
from beginners to tournament professionals. The program consistently
has proven to give the guest immediate success in on-court instruction.
The
focus of “Success Now” is based upon four basic theories:
·
Teach within one's style of play
- The guest need not worry their game will be significantly changed.
Assessment is given of the strokes the guest does intuitively and
helps them to improve the strengths they have naturally
·
Large muscle tennis -
The connection is established between the small and large muscles
so they work in unison rather than against one another. The torso
and full body movements are taught to relieve the small muscle stress
and allow them to perform better.
·
Teach tennis from the ground up
- The lower body acts as a spring and allows for a powerful explosion
into the ball. Many other pros teach from the arm or from the waist
up.
·
Teach from the ball forward -
The most important part of the game is from the ball to the finish.
The backswing should be what's comfortable for the player with an
emphasis on control from the contact with the ball through the finish
of the follow-thru
President
and General Manager, Katherine Klauber Moulton says, “Based
on our guest comments and feedback, we consistently hear that they
are surprised by how much they learn in a such a short time at The
Colony. Our concept also integrates the philosophy that we are not
to change what a guest is already doing, rather to enhance their
game and unique styles.”
“Success
Now” is taught by each of The Colony’s tennis professionals.
If a guest works with multiple pros, the concepts are consistent
between all of them. In season, lessons are available to Colony
guests and off-season to the general public if openings are available.
